Strategies
The Anti-bullying Alliance has a wealth of experience in working
with local authorities, schools and the wider community in tackling
bullying. Here are a number of key recommendations
for effective anti-bullying practice in your school or education
establishment:
1) Make sure you
have an anti-bullying
policy that is written in consultation with
the whole school community and regularly
reviewed;
2) Take
a whole school
approach to tackling bullying;
3) Collect and analyse data relating to
bullying – and act upon the results;
4) Involve students in bullying prevention –
their input is key and only they can tell you if your
strategies are working;
5) Work with
parents and carers to
prevent and respond to bullying;
6) Work with
partners in the wider
community to prevent and respond to bullying
